A few years ago I decided to start remaking my series of twelve angels. This is one of the most recent remakes. The concept was to create a character that physically embodied 'vengeance'. The hole in the face was part of the 'faceless' theme hat I ran throughout the whole series.

I ended up running work in progress shots through 4chan, an anonymous internet hub for funny cat pictures and animated gifs. The anonymous critiques I received from that ended up drastically improving the overall look of the image.
